Shing Yiing Ong
FOUNDER / LEAD INSTRUCTOR
ENERGETIC, FUN, EMPOWERING
Founder of SHINE Movement Pilates. Her Pilates journey began in 2012 after a knee injury from running led her to discover the healing and strengthening benefits of the practice.
In 2023, during her pregnancy, Pilates became an essential tool in supporting her pelvic floor health and postpartum recovery. She created SHINE Movement to help individuals move with purpose and shine with confidence—no matter where they are in their journey.

Iana Iancovschi
MARKETING DIRECTOR/STUDIO ASSOCIATE
DEDICATED, MINDFUL, ATTENTIVE
Iana is a Mat & Reformer Pilates instructor in training, currently leading social media, marketing strategy, and customer experience at the studio.
With a background in corporate marketing and client experience, she relocated from Copenhagen to NYC for a new chapter in her life. She believes that mindful movement is essential for long-term health, which inspired her to pursue a new career path. Dedicated to creating seamless and supportive client experiences.

Cara Hafter
INSTRUCTOR
ENERGETIC, PURPOSEFUL, PLAYFUL
Cara is a longtime lover of movement and Pilates, committed to exploring the mind-body connection in every aspect of her life. She believes movement should be enjoyable, and strives to encourage this through Pilates and more.
Her Pilates journey began in the heart of NYC and has since taken her around the world, inspiring purposeful and mindful movement with a joyful flair. Outside of the studio, you’ll find Cara engaging with her community, hosting Trivia Nights around NYC, or dog-watching at McCarren Park.

Claire Goldes
INSTRUCTOR
FLUID, ENERGIZING, GROUNDED
Claire Louise Goldes is a Brooklyn-based dancer, choreographer, and certified Pilates instructor, trained through Studio du Corps/The Pilates Center of Orange County under Diane Diefenderfer. Since moving to NYC, she has taught a variety of Pilates formats including privates, group classes, and prenatal sessions—both in-home and in-studio.
Rooted in her dance and somatic background, Claire’s teaching invites clients to move with intention, deepen body awareness, and align breath with movement. She brings warmth, curiosity, and a passion for creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels supported, connected, and empowered to shine.

Alison Wang

Alison is a model by day, pilates instructor by weekend.
Pilates transformed her relationship with her body, teaching her to value what it does rather than what it looks like.
She designs flows that are challenging yet accessible, with a focus on breath and intentional movement. Her classes leave you feeling stronger, more grounded, and at home in your body.

Surelee Joseph Shah
INSTRUCTOR
DYNAMIC, HOLISTIC, TRANSFORMATIVE
Surelee’s path to becoming a Pilates instructor has been unconventional, beginning in television acting before moving into runway and commercial modeling.
After becoming a mother of two, she developed a deep interest in health and wellness, transforming her personal journey into a professional calling. Now a certified yoga and Pilates instructor, she blends classical Pilates with strength training, HIIT, and yoga, emphasizing a holistic mind-body approach in every session.

Madeline Mondrala
INSTRUCTOR
ENERGETIC, CREATIVE, DYNAMIC
An LA girl at heart, she now lives in Ridgewood with her husband and cat. When she’s not teaching fun, challenging Pilates classes, she’s likely writing songs or spending time with friends.
Her movement roots are in gymnastics, dance, and surfing, anything that makes her feel like she’s flying, she naturally loves.
After fourteen years of teaching, she remains fascinated by the art of control that Pilates offers. She sees it as the perfect medium to combine strength, alignment, and flexibility through the dynamic flows she loves to create.

Jennifer Tse
INSTRUCTOR
DYNAMIC, MOTIVATING, INTENTIONAL
Pilates instructor based in New York City. With a background in design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), she began her career in corporate fashion. However, long hours at a desk worsened her chronic neck and back pain—ultimately leading her to discover Pilates.
After just one class, she was hooked. A year into her practice, Jennifer made the decision to deepen her connection to the discipline by beginning teacher training.

Avital Blass

EMPOWERING, MINDFUL, SUPPORTIVE
A certified Pilates instructor and mind-body therapist, Avital believes that Pilates is not just about strengthening the body, improving posture, and enhancing coordination—it’s an opportunity to connect with the body on a deeper level, to understand it better, and to feel more comfortable and confident within it.
In her classes, she focuses on building physical strength and awareness while creating a supportive environment where everyone can feel good in their body and develop a sense of balance and well-being.

Ashley Alexis

Ashley Alexis is a Brooklyn, NY–based Pilates instructor with a passion for intentional movement and mindful connection. Outside the studio, she enjoys performing and singing, playing video games, and reading.
To Ashley, Pilates is about moving with intention and breath - creating a deep, full-body connection that allows the mind and body to work as one. Her practice emphasizes awareness, control, and presence, reflecting her belief that the mind plays a vital role in physical well-being.

Joey Lin
FRONT DESK ASSOCIATE
BALANCED, INTENTIONAL, GROUNDED
Born and raised in NYC, Joey discovered Pilates after being diagnosed with scoliosis and quickly experienced its ability to improve posture and restore balance in the body. Inspired by its impact, she is currently completing BASI’s Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program, where she is deepening her understanding of the method and preparing to guide others through mindful movement.
Outside the studio, Joey enjoys discovering new restaurants, reading, and strength training, and believes in bringing intentional movement into everyday life

Kelsey Breme
FRONT DESK ASSOCIATE
DYNAMIC, CALM, BALANCED
Kelsey began her Pilates journey in 2018, after experiencing persistent back pain from desk work and having scoliosis. She discovered that a Pilates practice not only improved posture and energy, but offered a rewarding form of movement for the body and mind.
She began her Comprehensive Pilates teacher training with BASI to connect deeper with the method, and to help bring it to others. She especially values how Pilates can meet every body exactly where they are, while helping to improve body awareness that translates outside of the studio.
