Shing Yiing Ong
FOUNDER / INSTRUCTOR
ENERGETIC, FUN, EMPOWERING
Founder of SHINE Movement Pilates. Her Pilates journey began in 2012 after a knee injury from running led her to discover the healing and strengthening benefits of the practice.
In 2023, during her pregnancy, Pilates became an essential tool in supporting her pelvic floor health and postpartum recovery. She created SHINE Movement to help individuals move with purpose and shine with confidence—no matter where they are in their journey.

Shirley Jusino
STUDIO MANAGER
DRIVEN, STRATEGIC, PASSIONATE
Shirley is a native New Yorker and bilingual English-Spanish speaker who has spent most of her life in Brooklyn. With a background in operations, childcare (including au pair and nanny agency work), and retail, she brings a strong foundation in service and organization to her role as Studio Manager at Shine Movement Pilates. Her passion for wellness, self-improvement, and philosophy aligns perfectly with the studio’s mission, and she feels lucky to help cultivate such a supportive and caring space.
Outside of work, Shirley enjoys cooking, dancing to Hip Hop and K-Pop, and geeking out over rom-coms, comedies, action films, Star Wars, fashion, and technology.

Lynsey Newsham
INSTRUCTOR
SOULFUL. STRONG, JOY-FILLED
Lynsey is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor with a passion for movement that is joyful, intentional, and inclusive.
With teaching experience in both New York City and Spain, she has also pursued continuing education to deepen her practice. Specializing in thoughtful progressions and modifications, Lynsey ensures that everyBODY leaves feeling aligned, empowered, and accomplished. Her teaching is rooted in classical Pilates principles and delivered with uplifting energy.

Valeria Cruz-Colón
INSTRUCTOR
ARTICULATE, INTENTIONAL, ADAPTIVE
Valeria is a Comprehensive Pilates Instructor and professional dancer originally from Las Vegas. Certified through DK Balanced Body Method at UNLV, she holds a BS in Hospitality Management and trained with Hubbard Street’s Professional Program in Chicago. Pilates has long been part of her cross-training, helping her prevent injuries and recover safely.
Valeria has taught clients ages 9 to 80+ in both group and private settings, including athletes, prenatal clients, and those with chronic conditions. She brings a dancer’s precision and passion to every session, aiming to challenge, support, and inspire in a safe and welcoming space.

Jennifer Tse
INSTRUCTOR
DYNAMIC, MOTIVATING, INTENTIONAL
Pilates instructor based in New York City. With a background in design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), she began her career in corporate fashion. However, long hours at a desk worsened her chronic neck and back pain—ultimately leading her to discover Pilates.
After just one class, she was hooked. A year into her practice, Jennifer made the decision to deepen her connection to the discipline by beginning teacher training.

Claire Goldes
INSTRUCTOR
FLUID, ENERGIZING, GROUNDED
Claire Louise Goldes is a Brooklyn-based dancer, choreographer, and certified Pilates instructor, trained through Studio du Corps/The Pilates Center of Orange County under Diane Diefenderfer. Since moving to NYC, she has taught a variety of Pilates formats including privates, group classes, and prenatal sessions—both in-home and in-studio.
Rooted in her dance and somatic background, Claire’s teaching invites clients to move with intention, deepen body awareness, and align breath with movement. She brings warmth, curiosity, and a passion for creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels supported, connected, and empowered to shine.

Cara Hafter

ENERGETIC, PURPOSEFUL, PLAYFUL
Cara is a longtime lover of movement and Pilates, committed to exploring the mind-body connection in every aspect of her life. She believes movement should be enjoyable, and strives to encourage this through Pilates and more.
Her Pilates journey began in the heart of NYC and has since taken her around the world, inspiring purposeful and mindful movement with a joyful flair. Outside of the studio, you’ll find Cara engaging with her community, hosting Trivia Nights around NYC, or dog-watching at McCarren Park.

Zina Kalu

Bringing a blend of fun, motivation, and expert guidance, Zina helps clients move safely toward their strongest, most confident selves.
With a background in fitness training and Pilates mat work, she support individuals in mastering new movements, unlocking potential, and gaining deeper insights into their bodies and mindset. Committed to creating lasting results, Zina empowers each client to transform their practice through a supportive, results-driven approach.
